The Jeff Carpoff, DC Solar Collection

The stipulations required by our customer in order host this sale have been the most challenging and difficult received to date. 149 vehicles in a rolling auction simulcast format. In addition, a separate press conference of 10 select assets was to be held by the U.S. Attorney’s Office at the entrance of Golden1 Stadium. This request was to be completed within a three-month deliverable. Because this was an interlocutory sale (an agreement made with the defendant to auction assets in a cooperative effort) pre-indictment, we were unable to officially begin marketing and advertising until 30 days from the live sale date. With nearly 2m views within this relatively short time frame, the additional exposure received by the national media coverage was a blessing bringing these assets into the global spotlight. This auction went down as the largest single owner car collection sold by the U.S. Marshals to date. One of the most noteworthy assets offered was a 1978 Pontiac Trans Am that was previously owned and autographed by Burt Reynolds as a memento of the car he drove in the movie ‘Smokey and the Bandit.’ We could not be more thankful for the support and assistance provided by Auction Flex & HiBid in order to make this auction possible.
